Overview

Apart from umpteen logos and various further developments I invented the term “logoanalogy” – some time around the turn of the millenium – in order to for example implement internet addresses in a way that is suitable for the respective CI. In general I like reworking and optimizing existing logos & if I should quote myself for once: “your logos are nothing but better headlines” 😉

The first series of stickers I placed outside as a kid in the early 90s. Those were at the very beginning just any I had available in larger quantity to bomb. A little later I started to cut them apart and arrange them new. To me, that kind of has been the beginning of something that is nowadays called streetart by some people: Collages, painted, drawn, copied, stenciled, stamped, printed …  stickers!

10 years later I then started, in order to save time & money, to print whole sheets – for myself, friends and companies. That way I produced altogether several millions of stickers and acquired quite an immense expert and sector knowledge. In most cases I am able to produce at lower costs than every online/bargain print shop in Germany!

Overview

My very first magazine layout was in the end of the 80s: A drawn, collaged together black-and-white copied sheet, which I e.g. sold at my school at that time and out on the street for 20 cents. That went on over the Deflok magazine, founded in 1997, to most recently the Streetwear Today. The latter is an internationally recognised fashion magazine, up to 180 pages strong in its best years, counting altogether about 15 square meters, 50.000 words and thousands of pictures.

Overview

I have always, for just about all the magazines I was graphically involved in, also written a part on my own, done interviews and composed diverse concepts in general (in German & English).

Overview

In 1996 I worked at a trade show & house (music) party for the first time. Until 2001 I worked for example for the club ‘Zeit & Raum’ (time & space) in Bochum. Up until today I co-organize every once in a while the most different events, among them – apart from parties & festivals – are also a lot of exhibitions. By the way, we are now talking about hundreds of events in which I have been involved!

Overview

In 2010 for example I have been the curator of Concrete Playground, with exhibiting artists such as Martha Cooper at the Zeche Zollverein in Essen. Apart from diverse organizational activities also the exhibition’s  design and concept has been developed by me.

„It seems like “Concrete Playground” will be one of this year’s most interesting street art events in Germany. The list of participating artists sounds like urban art’s who-is-who…“ …

“Concrete Playground zeigt, dass aus dem Begriff «Streetart» noch weit mehr zu holen ist, als sich die meisten wahrscheinlich hätten vorstellen können.” “Umfassenste Ausstellung im Ruhrgebiet zum Thema Streetart” “Besonders sehenswert!”

Exhibition stands and booths
My first big exhibition booth (about 200 square meters) was for DC Shoes Co. USA. The basic design I realized within just one week and it has been recycled over and over in the past years. In the course of time I have been involved in countless projects of the companies Magwick, later Magseven GmbH.

Shop design
Even though I never really had the chance to be also in charge of the practical realization, still some of the initial drafts of shop design concepts are mine. Such as the one for the Vans flagship store in Berlin or for  Trust Nobody in Barcelona.

Exhibitions
Apart from numerous non-commercial exhibitions I also co-designed and -organized the “untitled” exhibition from the very beginning. For example the very first draft of the exhibition in Berlin hast been designed by me. Later the biannual exhibition moved to Barcelona and at last to Las Vegas. The 68-pages book regarding the exhibition in Paris, by the way, I completely layouted within just one day.

During the time of 1999-2001 I was head of “Bombing Promotions“, a very specific small
agency, with a direct marketing customer database of more than 60.000 (not digital) contacts.
Within the HipHop sector I should own the largest local e-mail distribution list, due to my collecting for more than 15 years.

Additionally there is also a variety of flyer spreading pools for various scenes and I know the portal MySpace quite well. Whereas there is meanwhile not too much going on there, as Facebook* took over its place.

Video editing/DVD Authoring
In 2004 I released a fairly successful VHS Video in parallel with a VCD. The latest big project was a several hours DVD.

VJing/Visuals
Since 2003 I have occasionally been doing concept-installations at various events – from drum ‘n’ bass parties up to the “Tanzpalast” in Bochum.
